Bio

High energy dance funk band out of Denver, Colorado, The Rowdy Shadehouse thrives on the beat. Labeled “SUPERFUNK” by such Denver magazines as Westword and 5280, RSH definitely lives up to their name. Building a steady following throughout their years on the scene RSH has played at such local venues as Cervantes, Quixotes, Herbs, Herman’s Hideaway, Owlsly’s, Daughertys, Blue Ice, PT’s Inferno,  McDonough’s, Rock Bottom Brewery, Fero’s, Jezebels, Jazz at Jacks, The Summit Steakhouse, Vine Street Pub, Roosters, Andrews, The Bar Standard and many others including mountain towns. Telluride, Steamboat Springs, Durango, Creede, Crested Butte and Breckenridge are all able to say they’ve experienced the Rowdy sound.

Lead Man

Funk Master Jon Thursday is lead man for the Rowdy Shadehouse. Jon started as a vocal percussionist for Limited Press and also toured with the Rizza, the Jizza and KRS1. After taking up with Rowdy he began to develop a stage presence the likes of which hasn’t been seen since James Brown. He has been hailed by many Denver locals as “pure fun, raunchy and talented.” Well rounded vocals, fun, super dance moves, and sexy lyrics make this front man a force to be reckoned with.

Bass/Lead

The other half of the songwriting team for Rowdy Shadehouse is Chase McQuade on bass. Originally from New York, he joined the army and learned to play bass. Displaying a phenomenal natural talent, Chase was picked up by Doug Kershaw whom he toured with for a couple years before settling in Denver. He played with innumerable people in Denver before forming the Rowdy Shadehouse. Chase’s bass licks are generally considered to be some of the best on the scene today.

Guitar

Wheezy is the man on lead guitar for Rowdy Shadehouse.  Wheezy comes from Minneapolis Minnesota, where he picked up guitar at a very young age.  He’s toured nationally with several bands including Digital Underground.

Drums

Rowdy drummer Dillon is the quietest member of the band. What he doesn’t say in words comes out in his hands. A funk drummer on the D.U. scene, where he earned his degree, Dillon has the background to set the backbone for Rowdy’s driving sound.
